Hello Everyone,
Here is the new Digi release from Copicmarkerscrapbooking. This set is called Under The Sea and was drawn by Kathie Zaban. A fun world of sea creatures and mermaids.
Here is a book I covered with an altered image. I had a hard time capturing the sparkle in the picture. I combined parts of three different stamps. I love the freedom to play around with digi’s. I was inspired by Colleen’s Smash book and this is what I came up with for myself. I also did this card. The horses are behind acetate and I threw in some iridescent confetti.

Winter 2011 Slumber Party

Hello Everyone,
I try to have a get together for my daughter over every winter and summer break. This time it was a sewing slumber party. I found a project that I thought would be very useful for the girls and some what easy for beginners. I got the ideal from KwernerDesigns. She had done several of these and I thought these would work great for our conventions and sleep overs. The girls were all here by 12pm on a Fri. an we started prepping things about 2pm. I took them through the whole process, from cutting material down to the finished bag. Two of the girls have never sewn before and two had made dresses before. I was very proud of all the girls, it was a long day, but by 10pm that night everyone had a finished bag and could go off and just be silly for the rest of the time. They worked their little fingers off. Here are some collages of the pics.

Project Life 2012

Hello Everyone,
I have been missing in action for a while. I had a lot on my plate. We recently moved and our lives have changed a lot. My craft room is finally back in working order and I wanted you to know about what's new. I decided to do Project Life this year and did a lot of looking at blogs for the best way to go about it. My plan is to focus on a week at a time and showcase the pictures I take in that time frame. Some people do a picture a day. I thought for me that wasn't realistic. I also bought a starter kit from Becky Higgens and plan to use my stash also. I will include a lot of stamping with some of my favorite word stamps from Ali Edwards. I won't post every week but will try to do it once or twice a month. If you want to try Prpject Life , here are some blogs to check out.

Fairy Fun Fridays Challenge 65 : No Black lines

Hello Everyone,
This challenge was new to me and I truly will be doing it again. You can use any color to stamp or print your image but no black. I printed my Poppies digital stamp in a soft gray and loved how it turned out.

House of Gilli Challenge 19: Recycle and Texture

Hello Everyone,
Come join us here at House of Gilli for this awesome Challenge. I love the ideal of recycling. I had a sheer and metallic ribbon I took off of a present and saved and had no ideal of what I would do with it. I cut it in have width wise and used half for her veil, and the other as the ribbon at the top of the tag. I also embossed the torn paper I used on the bottom that I had left over from another project.Enjoy and CRAFT ON!!

I'm the hostess over at Fairy Fun Fridays for this next challenge. My aim was to have people use wet embossing in a different way. On my image called Beary Sleepy I wet embossed every thing you see that is black. I went for a distressed look on the frame of my tag. The embossing gaves your projects some nice shine and texture. This will look so cute on a gift.

House of Gilli Challenge 16: Dry or Wet Embossing

Hello Everyone,
I know you will be needing some gift cardholders so here is one made with Graduation Gilli but I took her cap off and diploma out of her hand. Now she can be used for any occasion. I dry embossed the front oval and wet embossed the sentiment inside.

This holder was made with an A2 envelope scored in half. Cut the envelope flip down the score line and glue down the left side. Attach a piece of ribbon to the front before adding the panels. The right side is where you put the gift card. All the panels were covered with patterned paper cut at 4 by 2 1/2 Use a scrape piece to cover the left flap. Decorate how ever you like.

Fairy Fun Fridays Challenge 60 : Inspired by a Book or the Book Cover Art

Hello Everyone,
I'm back with the newest challenge over at Fairy Fun Friday. I love this theme, it gives you so much to work with. I used a book my 13yr picked and ran with it. On the spine of the book it had a design that wrapped to the front so that's how I made my card. The red edge is actually part of the back of the card and I embossed the hounds-tooth with clear powder.I then attached the pattern paper to the front edge of the red. I also embossed the greeting, which is to different fonts like the book title. The digi I used Fly fishing, is a sneak peek of the up coming release at Prairie Fairy check them out.

I'm also entering this card in PaperTreyInks blog hop. I used the color of strawberries, the book ideal and the pattern found in the inspiration picture.

Welcome to another House of Gilli Challenge. I hope you are all trying to enjoy your summer as much as possible. I made my own version of a book marker for a friends daughter who loves pink. It has magnets in each half so they stay in the book. She is very ill in a children's hospital and will be there for a long time. She loves when people read to her ,so I thought this would come in handy. Can you guess what her favorite color is? All girl I tell you. She also loves to swim so I thought Gilli Bloomers would suit her. Make sure you check out the new Gilli that were released at CHA they are soooo super awesome. House of Gilli Challenge 10:Ribbon and Bows

Hello Everyone,
It's time for my take on the Challenge Ribbons and Bows, and boy did I have fun being creative. The first thing I decided was that I want to do some ribbon weaving, so I want to my ribbon bin. I picked out scraps of blue,green,white, and added pink for pop. I then decided I wanted to use a different type of sentiment and thats how I decided on how to use my Gilli Lady stamp found HERE. I stamped a pattern on all my dresses in color ink and then used a Copic marker color to complement the ink. I hope you enjoy and give it a try.

Copic Cubbies a new Storage Solution

I came up with a different method of storing my Copic markers and have been asked over and over where I bought it or how to make these. I am now selling them here. My Copic Cubbies hold 130 Sketch or Cia markers and 54 reinkers. The case locks, so if you have little hands around you can keep them out of your stash. The Box measures around 7 by 8 and 7in tall.
The inserts are hand mand so it does take sometime to fill orders. My goal is once you place an order to have it filled within a week.

So far I have done 4 layouts for this month, I met my goal. I'm also working on doing more journaling on my pages. I really love looking at Scrapbooks and knowing something about the story of the pictures. I did this lovely layout of my son, and I used the Tiny Tags die as the main accents from Paper Trey Ink. I also used mostly Echo Parks For The Record collection paper, a few rub-ons I had in my stash, buttons, and some I-Rock metallic bling. I cut my Title with my Cricut using Make The Cut.

Fairy Fun Fridays Challenge 52 : Here Come the Girls

Hello Everyone,
Today is the start of a new challenge over at Fairy Fun Fridays. I used this lovey Digi that you can find here at Prairie Fairy Designs. I also used this sentiment set, prefect for Here Come The Girls.
I have a love for all things Asian, so I knew I had to color this image. I also had to use red, no brainer, and I paper pieced the parasol and the oboe and her shoes. I really wanted the focus to be on the image and sentiment, so I kept the details to a minimum(that was hard, I also love bling). Look close,I did manage to get some sparkle on the flower. Wow, I had so much fun with this challenge. this is the first time I hand stitched on a card, and I love the way it came out. I also machine stitched on the scallop rectangle mat. I stamped and embossed Gilli's shirt and pants, and then paper pieced them an added stickles to both. Yes I have alot going on ,but it works for me.

Fairy Fun Fridays Challenge 50 : Inspired by a Nursery Rhyme

Hello Everyone,

This is one of my kids favorite songs. When my daughter was born, and still in the hospital my 5yr son sang this to her. When my niece was born, my daughter then 5yr. sang it to her. Every baby born since has had this sung to them by their sibling or cousin. Oh, so sweet. For this card I air brushed the night sky with several different blues, and blue violets to get this look, and the stars are done with the blender pen. Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #43 Recipie

Hello Everyone,
I'm hosting the challenge this week and it is a recipe. Use Yellow as the main color and these tree embellishments, ribbon,stitching(real or faux) and rhinestones.
I thought for this time of year yellow would be prefect. I love this card, it came together very nicely. I started with 2 shape bases that I cut with my Cricut and then layered it in a darker shade of yellow. I pierced and faux stitched around the outside shape with black pen. I stamped and clear embossed the darker shape with a background stamp. I inked up some word paper with yellow and then die cut with a scallop square and attached to front of card and stitched up and down three times over the left two squares. To finish off I added some ribbon, embellishments, and a sentiment. Come join us HERE for the Challenge.

Fairy Fun Fridays Challenge 49 :Oh so Spring

Hello Everyone,
I am so looking forward to Spring and it is suppose to be here. It doesn't feel like it's come yet, so this challenge will have to do for now. I love making cards but I also like changing it up a bit so I don't have a creative low, hence today's book marker. I saw this done on someones blog with a flower as the focal point and decided I wanted something different. My image is Fairy love, what a way to enjoy a Spring day with a loved one and a kiss. You can find it at Fairy Prairie Designs. The one thing I didn't want to do was cut of any of the image with my Nestie, so I had to cut around the parts I wanted to keep and position them above the nestie when I went to cut. I love how it turned out. Also very important is Stickles does not work on digi stamps, it causes the printer ink to blur and look funny, so I used Viva Decor glitter liner called holo iridescent. This glitter does not dry flat it gives texture and dimension to the wings. Well come join us at Fairy Fun Fridays and play and check out the other Fairy Princesses work.

House Of Gilli Challenge 3: Pastels and Bling

Hello Everyone,
I get the pleasure of sharing my creation today. I must admit, pastel was a challenge for me because I love bold and bright and intense colors, and bling. So I decided to do a little note pad for my daughters teacher. We like to let her know that we appreciate all her hard work. I decided to use Bloomers Gilli, since summer is almost here, and 4 different colors of paper. Pink, aqua, lavender,and yellow and inked all the edges. I also used Spellbinders matching stamps on the bottom of each page. The book has 15 pages. Well enjoy and come play with us at the House of Gilli and check out my team mates work.

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to another Challenge at Crafty Cardmakers. I made a book to hold my stamped images so I could keep track of how many Sweet Pea Stamps I own, and what they look like since these are very detailed. I Stamped on Sticky Back Canvas and colored in with Copic markers. This was my first time coloring on fabric so I did a practice piece first to pick my colors, and to test how much the markers would feather out. This book is super sparkly because I added Distress Rock Candy and a water color iridescent medium. Come stop by and check out with my team mates have created.

Welcome back to another House of Gilli Challenge. So, most of my friends know I adore the color green, but it has to be lime green. Almost every craft tool I buy is in lime green. Wow, this challenge was really fun and kind of hard for me. I love music and I felt I had so many choices. I finally chose this fun song by The Black Eyed Peas called Boom Boom Pow. It's a futuristic playful song and the lyric that kept going through my head was my space ship zoom. So that's how I came up with this card. It's totally for a guy or boy. House Of Gilli Challenge 1: RECIPE

Hello Everyone,
It's finally my turn to show you all the fun I had with my awesome Gilli stamps. I decided to make something other then a card, so I made this super cute candy bar holder. I can't wait to give it to someone special. For the challenge you have to use 3 pattern papers,2 punches or die cuts,and 1 form of bling. First and for most the Gilli I decided to showcased is called Bloomers. My 3 pattern papers are the red with hearts in the background, the pink with a tone on tone pattern, and the white with the pink pattern. My 2 punches are the felt flower,made from a circle nestibilities, and the MS border punch. My bling is I-Rock mirrors. Well I couldn't stop there so I did a matching card and put Gilli on the Card not the candy bar holder. Well that's all for now. I love the feel of paper, I believe I'm addicted to it, all colors, shapes, and textures. I also love to take pictures and play with them, hence that's how I ended up getting into Digital Scrapping. So now I do both because I could never give up paper. Here is a page I'm sending to Prairie Fairy for the Design Team Call that's going on right now. The Bunny is a PNG from them and I colored it in PSE , I used the colors from my paper to color. This was the first time I have ever done this(not to shabby). Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since my last post. Between getting a break from home schooling, being sick, kids being sick, husband being sick and busy crafting I haven't posted lately. So the rest of this month you will be treated with many post of recent creations.
These three pics are of a little notepad I made to keep track of things that I had to do before the 25th. I used a Nestie to cut the cover and all pages for the pad. I used BoBunny's Winter Joy papers and a silver metallic paper, and a retired stamp from Stampin Up. I made the snowflake flower and died it with Glimmer mist to match the paper and added Rock Candy Distress stickles for the shimmer you see, I also dyed the ribbon to match. I entered this project for a Design Team Call and made the team. More about that later.

Hello Everyone,
When I made my first card I thought it was awesome. Years later and I'm glad I never mailed it. It does make you feel good to see your progress. I have been card making for around four years, but became more into it in the last two. I really enjoy working with digital stamps and Coloring in with Copic markers is by far my favorite.
This last image is from Stitchbear stamps called Ice Princess. Perfect for this time of year, she has a lot of sparkle that isn't captured in the picture. I used Distress Stickles Clear Rock Candy on her dress which gives it an icy shimmer, on her hair ,sentiment, and staff an Iridescent medium. The Circle paper and the border stripe are all glittered. The border strip is also a combo of blue and purple.

Here is my tag using the Holly Fairy from Prairie Fairy Designs. I think she looks like my dear sweet daughter and I had to use her on my circle tag/card. I cut the tag using the Cricut Expression and MTC software. There's lots of room to write a special message for your loved ones. I also used my Copics to distress the matt edges. The fall pumpkins are for my sick Grandma. She loves the fall colors so I thought I would cheer her up, and I just had to make a matching envelope. Love Um or Leave Um: To Glue or not To Glue Act 2

Hello Everyone,
First I want to thank you all for the glue suggestions, but I still have a few more liquid glues in my arsenal. So after using up must of my glue stash I went on the search for more glue. This time I also wanted something that would work on small die cut pieces.

These next three are glues a lot of crafters love, I kind of feel bad, but I found they were just not for me. LEAVE UM!! And heres why.
Tombo's Mono multi- this glue has two really cool ways to apply the glue to a project, one small applicator and a bigger one on the opposite end that also allows you to spread the glue out without making a mess.(Me like) This glue worked really well, but for small applications if you did not put a very little it oozed out from under a die cut(dries shiny) and I found myself never reaching for it for bigger projects because I felt I would go through it too fast.
Zip Dry- Everyone loves Zip Dry my sister-in-law and I were told when we bought this glue at our local shop while scrap booking. We told them we wanted the glue to adhere paper to chip board to make a book and they said it works great. Well we used the glue in the store and were not happy. It was like a clear, smelly rubber cement, and it was drying before we got the whole area covered. It was oozy and gooey, but it did come off our hands without a big ordeal. We weighted down the book covers and let them dry. When we looked at them the paper looked fine at first but soon began to pucker in the middle. No more Zip Dry for use.
Quickie Glue pen- This pen worked but not for what I wanted it for. If you want to write a word and quickly cover it with glitter, this is the pen for you. I wanted to adhere die cuts and found that it dried before I was finished covering the die cut. It also did not last very long.

But there is good glue news brewing and here it is. My go to liquid glues LOVE UM, LOVE UM, LOVE UM!!!

So it took a while but I am pretty happy with these glues. That's also why I am posting, so that many new crafters can have a place to start their search for glue. I'm talking about the glues from left to right in the picture.

Zig two way glue- these are the blue tubes. I use these for all my small die cute pieces and I have never had a problem with oozing or pieces not staying stuck.(I use the big chisel only to re-sticky my mattes)
Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive- Yeah, quick dry(no one likes to sit and wait for glue to dry) and it's true, you have a very little window to remove or reposition your object. The bottle also has a small tip applicator (never had a problem with clogging)so that glue only goes where you want it to go. This is the glue I use to make chip board albums and book covers.
FABRI-TAC permanet adhesive(acid and lignin free)- This glue is like a combo of rubber cement(a little smelly)/hot glue(It does make strings) Very, very easy clean up, it rolls off your fingers. Make sure you get the newer bottle which has a long pin point tip, the older bottle style has a wider opening about 1/4 and your glue would dry up in the bottle.( Glad they fixed it) This glue works really well for attaching ribbon, felt, flowers of any material, and it will not pop off going through the mail. I've also used it on paper. It does not seep through the ribbon, you need very little, and you have some move time.
Glossy Accents- this is technically not a glue but a clear dimensional embellishment. I love the small fine tip applicator and I hate it. My tip seems to be always clogged so I keep a small needle near by. Glossy accents gives major pop to die cuts, stamped images, chip board,plus much more and it acts like a glue. I use it as a glue for bigger objects like metal frames, metal words, big buttons, and to glue paper to acrylic tags or pieces. The major down side is it takes a long time to dry (hours depending on the size), but the results are worth it, and that's why I won't leave um.

Ok, ladies this is my silly post for the month. I would like to know by a show of comments, is it me or are you on this craftin band wagon too? How many of you see a new product, be it tool, glue holder, what ever and want it and one of the first things that pops into your made is, if only it came in my favorite color? I feel that way all to often and it makes me sick when it does come out in my color 4 months latter, after I have bought it or I have to custom color it my self.(My ATG gun Post) Ok, how many of you have bought it twice to get the color you want? I can say I have only done that once. The nice thing is the crafting world is hearing us loud and clear, no more gray and orange or just plain black. Enjoy your evening and Craft On!

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 32 Use a Freebie

Sorry I'm late with this. This is a very simple card but I loved the free image I got from Archivers over 7 months ago. I used a 5 1/2 by 81/2 (I had the wrong measurements on CCM)card scored at 3inch and 6 inches and made into a tri fold. I also added a mat for writing in the card. Love Um or Leave Um: To Glue or not to Glue- Act 1

Hello Everyone,
So how many different glues do you have in your crafting arsenal? Ok, I love to craft, but I don't like to spend money on a product that's not going to serve my purposes or meet my needs. In an effort to help other crafters do the same I am doing a series of blogs on crafting supplies and tools called Love Um or Leave Um. In the end the final choice is up to you, I am only giving my humble opinion.

So let's talk liquid, paste, spray types of glue. I was looking for a glue to attach paper to chipboard to make mini albums, and maybe I could use it to add embellishments to my book. I told myself that a spray sounded like a good ideal, it's not drippy or messy. I went with Elmer's Craft Bond. This was a hot mess. The first problem was the fumes. I had to spray my project in the garage.(middle of winter, not heated didn't help) Second, after I spayed a few sheets the box and nozzle were so sticky and gooey that my paper started to stick to the box. This glue does not come off with just soap and water. I had to use goo gone on my hands. Third, which is the number one reason I went to a new product was after a while(maybe a month) my papers began to separate from the chip board. LEAVE UM!

So next, I checked on line for what people used for book making and one product which is easy to find was glue sticks. So I tried UHU glue stick and twist and glue. I found my self going through this product super fast in order to get good adhesion. One glue stick covered maybe two wordbooks, and the same with the twist and glue. LEAVE UM!

On to a new product. Yes Paste. This product was also one that many recommended online. In the description it's called a favorite among hobby enthusiasts, artists and crafters everywhere, an all purpose glue for all your crafting needs. I truly believe the only real reason I tried this product was the amount you got(19oz) and the price $16.75 plus 40% off. Boy was I sorry. When I opened the jar all I kept thinking was how in the world am I going to spread this without making a huge mess. I first tried a small putty knife(type of spatula) but in the end I turned into a kindergartner and used my hands. The problem was getting an even coat on my paper. This product does work but it was way to much hassle and mess for me. LEAVE UM!!!

So, after this last failed glue attempt I stopped searching for a while, plus I had to use up all that I had. As for the Yes it was so messy I just chucked it. It was not worth the headache and sticky fingers and I would feel guilty giving away a product I didn't like, especially since my little girl wouldn't even touch it.

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 31 Spotlight Fancy Folds

Ok, the folds aren't super fancy but it's very elegant and not your normal card folded in half. This is a 4 1/2 by 11 card scored down the center and scored on the front panel in half and folded. Then you add your image panel matted on card stock. My image is from CopicmarkerScrapbooking.com the Oz digtal stamp set, I love this image because you can use it for so many types of cards. I also showed this card earlier in my Oz post. I would share more pic's but someone(mother-law) gave my card away before I finished with the pic's.(sorry)

Photographing Your Creations

Hello Everyone,

So you want to take a good photo of your card or layout but it never comes out quite right. These are somethings that I do and it works very well for me. I will start with my disclaimer. I am not a professional photographer but I have been taking pictures for a while and have even done some weddings. That being said here we go.
First, you should know your camera well, here is an instance where the manual can really help you. How to change settings, turn off flash, and any thing that it can do that will help you to get the best out of camera picture.(the object is to take a picture that needs little to no altering in an editing program) This may sound silly but trust me it helps so much. I went on a family vacation with a new digital camera that came 2 days before our trip.(this was not my fault, we ordered it 2 months earlier but they were out of stock) Bad, bad, ideal. My pictures were so pixelated that lots of them were worthless. I thought I hated my camera. Well in time I got to know my camera, and it was one of the best buys I had ever made, in fact 7 years done the road it still works and takes better pics then almost all the new cameras that my friends and family have.

Second, lighting can make or break a photo. Some photos can be beyond fixing in Photo shop or other editing software if the lighting is to bad. I use a white background and I light from above with a lamp that has a daylight bulb. I never use the flash on my camera when taking pics of my work, it will wash out the color.When I take a photo I get as close to the card as I can without cutting off any of the card, or scrapbook page. This is not a fancy setup, my background happens to be my all white computer shelving unit and my lamp was clearance $20.

You can try natural lighting but for me I don't like the shadows I get from sunny days. An over cast day would work better. This is why most photographers who shot outside do so early in the morning or in the evening before it gets to dark.

Third, you need some sort of editing program. When you take a photo of a card there is still so much background behind the card that it distracts from the image and you really can't see the details. You may also still need a little lighting adjustment. Depending on where you are posting your picture you may have to re size it, and lower the pixels. All this is done in your editing software.
I use Photo Shop Elements to crop, adjust lighting, re size my image, and save for the web. Here are some screen shots.

This shows how to resize your Image. I set Resolution at 72 pixels per square inch.

These last two are how to save for the web. I have to do this before I can put them on a forum or in an email because my camera takes pics at such a high resolution. You will know if you need to do this if when you try to load a picture to a forum or send and email it says image is to large.(when you save for web this is not print quality, it's only for viewing on the web) When you click save for web, a window pops up with 2 images, the original and the one you are going to change. On the right there is a box that says new size with a height and width in pixels. This is were I make my changes. I change my width to around 600 and the height automaticly changes to fit the width. If you make this number to small you image will also be small and you may not be able to see much. You can always go back and resize it again with no problems
.
You do not need an expensive editing program to make these changes. Some are free or come with your camera. So here are a few pictures to show how my image looks from start to finish.

Isn't she so cute, I love this digital stamp from Mo Manning. She is colored with Copics in a monochromatic theme. Background dark purple, I cut a circle out and then embossed with CB swiss dots. Next I put a square of purple floral under the circle. I then cut out a strip and cut scallops in it with a PTI border die, and stamped with a script in white and added ribbon. All done. So many people ask for a list of beginner Copics. Well here is a list of colors I find myself always going for in my stash(My go to colors). This is a personal preference,(I tend to look on the Brighter side of life)but more then likely it will work for you. So here we go:

My Ultimate Copic Storage

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to share with you my Copic marker storage system . Granted it's not rocket science, but how you store them can make your life easier or harder. It seems like crafters are always looking for a new, better way to store all their prized possessions. I have looked at several different ways to store my markers and I am convinced that this is the best way for me. This ideal could also work for other markers like Promarkers or Prismas, depending on the height, and you may have to alter a bit. This method expands very well as your collection gets bigger. Here is a pic of my markers and you'll see why I needed a good way to store them. I also told myself, if you spread them out people will see it's really not that many markers.(Who was I trying to kid)

So here it is. I use a makeup storage Caboodle(normally found in makup section of stores like Walmart, Target, Cosco) medium sized and I add plastic canvas inserts. You don't have to add the inserts but if you don't, your markers fall all over the place.(not a good ideal) I can transport my markers without any problem and I can lock it up so no little fingers can get to them. The Caboodle you start with most be this size to work. Height- 6 3/4in, Width- 7 3/4in, Length- 7in
This is very important or you slots will not match When you fit the pieces together the 2 panels with 5 sq on the end should be on the same side, and the same with the 9 panels all the ends with 17sq. should be on the same side.

CCM Challenge 28 Spotlight Glitter and Sparkle

Hello Everyone,
I was inspired by Lady GaGa's Bad Romance video. I used the colors Black,white,and red. I loved the mirror in the video, so that's how I came up with the shape. The black card front was scored on a diagonal in both directions and the I rubbed white pigment it across to make it pop. This pattern reminded me of the wire mess. Of course we have rhinestones, metal, and lots of pearl glimmer mist(hard to see) . I couldn't stop with the card front.

This is a Criss Cross Photo wallet found here http://www.scor-pal.com/projects2/index_files/Page854.htm to hold memories of a special day. This is made using one sheet of DSP and scored and folded. The images are colored with Copics and I used a MS punch on the inside mat, two ribbons and a felt and paper flower topped of with a button. The sentiments are mounted on pieces of thin wood. CCM Challenge 26 Recipie

Hello Everyone,
Welcome to CCM 26 Challenge Recipe. You have to make something using the following ingredients.
     1. A sticker or punch
     2. The color Yellow or Orange
     3. A animal or fish
Here is my take on it.

I picked an image drawn by Marianne Walker from I Like Markers.blogspot.com and colored it with Copics. I sprayed it with pearl Glimmer mist and added pearls. Next I took a 12 inch stripe of paper and punched(MS) and folded it to make a border around half the image. Then I stacked 3 prima flowers and added diamond dust to the top, added ribbon and rhinestones to card.

I am so excited to tell you that I'm one of the new Design team members for Crafty Cardmakers. When I found out I was so happy and this first challenge was really fun. We had to make easel cards. I made one shaped like a fish bowl. It's also a shaker card. So here's what I did, I used the colors as my inspiration. The card was cut with the Cricut Expression using Life's A Beach. The fish is cut from felt and then coated with stickles. The fish bowel is cut from acetate and pop doted, and I added blue/green beads as the gravel. ATG Gun

Hello Everyone,
Thanks so much for the lovely comments about my ATG gun. There were also some questions that I want to answer for you. Before I painted the gun I took it a part so all the black pieces would stay black except the inside wheels. They looked like they had a lot of pieces so I left them on. I then primed all the parts I planed on painting and let that dry about a half a day. I did this to make sure my paint would stick because the color I wanted did not say it was for plastic. Next I painted my top coat which is called Key Lime and let this dry over night. I loved the look but still wanted more so I added BoBunny rub on swirls. Then I sprayed a clear coat on top so my rubons would stay put. All and all it came out really good, but there are a few things I would change. I would not paint the inside wheels because they connect to each other, and I can see where the paint is chipping where they touch. I would also prep the gun a little better for the paint job( give it a light sanding so the paint adheres better, sand the primer coat for better adhesion before adding top coat) I would also let the clear coat dry for a day, some of my swirls broke apart from handling to soon. I know this sounds like a long process but it really wasn't and the work was well worth it.

I love to make journals and note pads. Here are a few that I have made. Some have blank pages, and others have charts or are a way to keep things organized in my crafting space. I made one just for my Copic colors so when I go shopping I can put it in my purse and know whats in my stash. I also make these as gifts for friends. I bind them with my Bind It All. The first few pics are my Journal. The first inside page is two pieces of card stock attached to patterned vellum with eyelets. The Copic pad has the color chart printed on copic paper and cut down to fit you purse nicely. The small little one with the little girl holding pompoms was made for my daughters teacher. Custom Colored ATG Gun

Hello Everyone,
I notice that when I craft, I tend to look for the best product I can find, for all the crafting I do. I bought my ATG gun over a year ago from The Tape Depot. It is not the Scott 3m brand, but I am so happy I invested in it. The cost was $25 for just the gun and I can't believe I lived without it for so long. I also bought a 12pack of adhesive, I have 7 left and I craft a lot. Well, when it came I was expecting it to be Teal but it was Red. I love color but red was just not bright enough for me so I painted it and added other decorations. I really,really love my ATG Gun now. So tell me what you think. I hope you had a lovely long weekend, I did. I needed a place to store my card designs so I made this little book. The chipboad cover was pre-cut. I used K&Company Berry Sweet paper to cover the chipboard. I love this paper pack, it's so cheerful and fun. Sock monkey looks so cute. I punched the holes with the Bind It All, and bound the book with ribbon for a softer look. The stamp is a Gorjus girl from Sugar Nelle and colored with my copics.

I've been on a flower kick lately and have been making lots of my own using all kinds of technics that others on the web have shared and my own. Some flower shapes have been cut on my Cricut, using small punches, or hand cut, or cut with the new Tim Holts flower die. I always use Glimmer mist and Stickles. I love how you can take a paper color that you don't like and make it into a color to die for, or do the same with a flower you have already made and change it's color to fit a different project. The last two flowers are on a project I'm working on, and will post soon. Please leave comments and let me know what you think.

A Pretty Bookmarker

Hello everyone,

I was in the process of reading a book and realizer I needed something pretty, and handmade to mark my book. I used a premade bookmark and inked the edges with weathed wood distress ink. I didn't like the look so I covered it with brick red distress ink and used a Tim Holtz applicator to apply this color on the top of the whole bookmarker. I then stamped images from SU with SU basic brown ink. I stamped one setiment with vintage photo distess ink. I punched the bottom with a scallop dot punch from EK Success. Lastly I took diamond stickles and smeared over the whole bookmark, and when that dried I took glossy accents and smeared that on and let that dry. I then took a piece of Pretty in Pink satin ribbon from SU and added that with a piece of cream embroidery floss. I love the way it sparkles and shines.

I used a cart I seem to hardly ever use, Zoobaloo. To my surprise I think I have truly under valued this one. I cut the birds in a nest twice(yellow,blue) and the shadow, all at 2 1/2 in. I edged puched GP white with an EK punch, and layered on SU Certainly Celery ribbon. The DP is Martha Stewart. I stamped on the ribbon with Stazon ink, the die inks bleed.

I decided to do a notepad for my daugthers teacher. I used Prima DP and solid green, called The First Blush Collection. I used a Hero Arts Stamp on PTI vintage white card stock. I colored image with Copics. I cut the ribbon tag with nestibility die.

My Pink Stamper NSD #3 Thinking Out Side the Box

For this card I cut a piece of acrylic in a tag shape with the Cricut using the WWL cart. I then stamped on it with Stazon ink in purple. I turned the tag over and colored with Copics(B05,Y15). The DP is Martha Stewart and ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. I also used a dot embossing folder on the white GP card stock.

This is one of my favorite colors Blue. All cardstock is SU Pacific Blue. I cut 5 daisys from WIMG at 2 in. to make the flower and it's sprayed with glimmer mist. The butterfly is from DC and is cut at 2 1/2 in. Ribbon is Hobby Lobby, and the edge punch is Martha Stewart, and stamp is Hero Arts.

I made this card for my grandmother who lives in a assisted living facility. I used a Hero Arts Stamp and colored it with COPICS(Y000,Y11,Y15,C1,C3,C5,C7,C9,E31,E33). The solid paper is SU and DP is Geobreeze . The edge border punch is Martha Stewart. Hope you enjoy.
